Due to the COVID-19 pandemic and the state’s relaxation of the normal 180 instructional day requirement, as well as to relieve our families of the burden of prolonged eLearning duties, LCA will end the 2019-20 school year on May 1, 2020.
Instruction for Elementary classes will end April 24, while middle and high school instruction will end May 1. Students may be assigned final projects to be due after instruction is completed. Teachers will inform students of their class’s specific deadlines. In order to best support our high school students preparing for AP and Dual credit classes, instruction for these classes will continue until the scheduled exam date.
April 24: Instruction ends for PreK-Grade 4
May 1: Official end of 19/20 school year and instruction ends for Grades 5-12
May 4-8: Final submission for class specific projects
May 11-22: AP/DC exams – Instructors will notify students of schedule
We remain grateful for the continued support, patience, flexibility, teamwork and positive attitudes from students, parents, teachers, and staff. We are confident that the best outcomes are being attained under these adverse conditions, and we are pleased that all course content will be covered before we end on May 1, 2020.
Information regarding grading, graduation, retrieving materials from school, returning materials to school, and additional resources for summer learning will be forthcoming.
In the world you will have tribulation. But take heart; I have overcome the world.
