Jim earned a BA in Biology at Belhaven University, an MA in Philosophy at University of Southern Mississippi, and a PhD in Philosophy at Michigan State University. He served as Professor of Philosophy at Taylor University for 27 years. For twenty years Jim coached the Taylor Ethics Bowl team, making them a regular national contender and winning the national championship in 2015. He has published eleven books and over ninety articles and book chapters. His wife, Amy, is also an author, and they have four children: Bailey, Sam, Maggie, and Andrew. Jim’s favorite Bible verse is Matthew 11:25: “I praise you, Father, Lord of heaven and earth, because you have hidden these things from the wise and learned, and revealed them to little children.”
