Josh Henson has been Athletic Director at Lighthouse Christian Academy since 2019. Mr. Henson got his start in education as an athletic director at Owen Valley High School after graduation from Taylor University. Prior to coming to Lighthouse, he worked as a high school strength and conditioning coach, a college track coach at his alma mater (Taylor University), and most recently as a physical education teacher in Bedford, Indiana. Mr. Henson, who is also the varsity track coach, started his college athletics career as a member of the Indiana University Track and Field team where he competed in the long jump, triple jump and threw the javelin. After coaching changes at IU, he decided to finish his athletic career at Taylor University where he ran track and played football. Upon graduation, Mr. Henson continued training and competing in weightlifting and powerlifting and spent a year training with the U.S. bobsled developmental team. In his free time Mr. Henson enjoys carpentry, landscaping, and weightlifting. His favorite Bible Verse is Ephesians 3:20: “Now to him who is able to do far more abundantly than all that we ask or think, according to the power at work within us.”
